Excellent Teaching Practitioner - Application Process 2025
The qualification scheme "Excellent Teaching Practitioner at NHH" rewards outstanding lecturers. The scheme will reward the work of developing the teaching and contribute to a professional teaching and learning culture.
Employees in permanent scientific positions can apply. To be considered, the applicant must have teaching experience equivalent to at least five years with a full load, including at least two years of teaching experience from NHH.
The assessment committee consists of two NHH Excellent Teaching Practitioners, an Excellent Teaching Practitioner from another institution, an external professor/associate professor in university pedagogy, and a student representative from NHH. The recommendations are submitted to the Academic Appointment Committee, led by Vice Rector Frode Sættem. The committee discusses and decides whom to reward with the title "Excellent Teaching Practitioner. " Those rewarded will receive a salary supplement.
NHH now has nine "Excellent Teaching Practitioners": Jan Ubøe, Stig Tenold, Annelise Ly, Iver Bragelien, Herbjørn Nysveen, Kjetil Bjorvatn, Jon Iden, Alexander Cappelen, Eirik Sjåholm Knudsen, Carsten Bienz, Therese Egeland and Kristin Rygg. On their profile pages, you can read their teaching portfolios.
The Excellent Teaching Practitioners will be part of the NHH Pedagogical Academy. The members contribute to pedagogical development within their departments and at the institutional level. The academy is led by Kjetil Bjorvatn.
