Staff mobility

Do you want to visit one of NHH's partner institutions in Europe to teach or learn more about your field from colleagues and experts at higher education institutions or other organisations in Europe?

All NHH staff members have the opportunity to apply for Erasmus+ funding for teaching or training mobility to develop their competence.

  • Staff mobility for training

    Staff mobility for training

    • This is available for academic and technical/administrative staff
    • The mobility must be approved and supported by your manager
    • The mobility must be relevant for your field and give value in the form of knowledge or competence
    • Examples of staff mobility for training: organised staff training weeks, workshops, job shadowing, training courses, seminars, and language courses
    • The receiving organisation must be a higher education institution or a private or public organisation in the education or labour market field
      • The HEI does not need to be one of NHH's partner schools
    • It is possible to combine training and teaching mobility

    Staff mobility for teaching

    • The purpose of teaching mobility is to teach at one of NHH's partner schools in Europe
    • The mobility must be approved and supported by your manager
    • Required teaching hours: minimum eight hours per week (same requirement applies if your mobility lasts less than a week)
    • It is possible to combine teaching and training mobility
  • Financing

    Financing

    • The grant from Erasmus+ will only cover part of the expenses associated with the mobility. The academic or administrative department of the staff person travelling must cover expenses exceeding the grant amount
    • Grant rates are set by the European Commission and Senter for Internasjonalisering av Utdanning (SIU) for one academic year at a time and the amount depends on which country you are going to. Check the rates for subsistence (pdf, 340 kb) and travel support.
  • Limitations

    • Attendance at conferences are not supported
    • Large groups from the same department who travel together cannot be supported
      • Maximum of two people can travel together
    • As the budget for staff mobility is limited, appliations for mobilities longer than two weeks must be justified
  • Requirements

    Requirements

    • Mobility duration: from two days to two months (excluding travel days)
    • The staff person is responsible to arrange the mobility with the institution he/she is going to
    • Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Training/Teaching Agreement, Confirmation of Stay, and Grant Agreement must be completed and turned in to the Section for Student Exchanges and Internationalisation
    • An electronic report regarding the mobility must be completed afterwards

    How to apply

    • Make sure the mobility is pre-approved by your manager
    • Clarify the mobility programme by registering for the specific event or contact the institution/organisation you want to travel to in order to make sure they can receive you
    • Send an e-mail to merete.anes@nhh.no to apply. Include the following information in the e-mail:

    Contact NHH's Erasmus+ coordinator Merete W. Ånes before sending in the application if you have questions.

  • Application deadline

    Application deadline

    There is no set application deadline, but you should apply well in advance of the planned mobility. Applications are processed on a contiuning basis.

  • Before, during, and after the mobility

    Before, during, and after the mobility

    Before:

    • Get the necessary signatures on your Mobility Agreement and send it to merete.anes@nhh.no
    • Section for student exchanges and internationalisation will fill out the Grant Agreement with the total grant amount for your mobility and send it to you. The agreement must be signed and returned before the mobility.

    During:

    • Ask the receiving institution/organisation to confirm the dates for your stay by signing the Confirmation of Stay form (Word, 60 kb). In some cases the receiving institution/organisation will give you their own form that can be handed in instead.

    After:

    • Return the Confirmation of Stay form to merete.anes@nhh.no
    • Submit a travel expenses claim like you normally do for any travel
    • Submit an electronic report. You will receive a link by e-mail
