Data Science and Analytics
The research group in data science and analytics does research in statistics, mathematics and operations research with a focus on applications in business, finance and economics.
Important areas of research are statistical modelling and optimisation to solve a variety of problems. Examples of applications are predictive modelling of tax evasion and both statistical modelling and optimisation in shipping and electricity markets. The group has recently published in journals like European Journal of Operational Research, Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Energy Policy, Discrete Optimization and Statistics and Computing.
