Cookies

NHH uses cookies to collect statistics on how the website nhh.no and subdomains are used. The goals are to further develop and improve the website, and to conduct marketing.

A cookie is a text file that is downloaded and stored in your browser's memory when you visit a website or use a webpage. Cookies can, among other things, be used to store previous user settings, register what pages you visit and what choices you make while using these pages.

Some of the cookies are necessary for the page to function. For nhh.no, this primarily applies to the submission of forms via the website.

How long the different cookies are stored varies depending on their function. Some are deleted as soon as you end the session on nhh.no, others are stored longer unless you actively choose to delete them from your browser.

Your benefits by accepting cookies may, for example, be that the pages respond faster etc. The benefits for us is that we understand more about how our pages are used so that we can make them better and more effective.

If you accept the use of marketing cookies on nhh.no, we can also reach you with marketing when you visit other websites. We advertise our study programmes and executive education to specified target groups. We want the ads you see to be relevant to you. What pages on nhh.no you actually visit therefore help determine whether you see advertising, and what ads you see.

Anonymization

However, you or the specific unit you use cannot be identified. We collect the entire unique IP address (internet protocol address), but this is anonymized by removing the last digits. Statistics and reports are generated and processed at an anonymized group level, not individually.

Blocking cookies

NHH uses a tool from Cookie Information for an overview and management of cookie consent. Here users can control which cookies they accept at any given time and see details about cookies in use on the site. The tool is available via an icon at the bottom left of all screens.

Cookie consent can also be managed via the browser. Most modern browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera, etc.) are set to accept cookies automatically. If you wish to block cookies for your browser, you can do this via the browser's security settings. Read more about disabling cookies in different browsers further down the page.

How to delete and block cookies through the browser

If you want to delete the cookies or ensure that no more are stored, you can change the settings in your web browser. Follow the links below to find out how to delete or block cookies in the most commonly used browsers.

Search and feedback

NHH stores information about what search words users use in the search tool Episerver Find. The purpose of the storage is to improve our information offering.

The usage pattern for searches is stored in a separate database and is only stored in an aggregated form. Only the search words are stored and they cannot be linked to other information about the users.

To improve the search, we use Siteimprove Feedback where users can report how the search worked. Information entered in feedback is stored at Siteimprove, which is a data processor in accordance with the data processing agreement with NHH.

NHH is the data controller. Users who submit feedback cannot be identified based on the submitted data.

Web forms

If you fill out and submit a form through the websites, the information is either sent by e-mail to a specified recipient address at NHH, or stored in the publishing tool Episerver, or both. The submission of the form via the publishing tool is encrypted.

To access the information, including any uploaded files, one must both have access to the publishing tool (managed by the Office of IT Services) and editing access to the page where the form is published (managed by the web editor or webmaster). The only ones who have full access to all content are the system administrators in the web editorial team at the Section for Communications and Marketing and the operational managers in the Office of IT Services. The web publishers at the various departments and offices at NHH only have access to their specific areas of responsibility.

In special cases, representatives from our technical supplier Epinova may have access to the systems in connection with troubleshooting or development.

Personal information collected through our forms is only used for the purpose specified in each form. When the form is no longer in use, the form data is deleted.

In cases where we wish to store the information for later use, you should be able to consent or refuse. A consent can be withdrawn at any time. We never ask for information considered sensitive when filling out forms.

In some cases – for example, application processes related to student exchange or similar – it may be necessary to upload certificates, transcripts or other documents. The transmission of uploaded files is encrypted so that third parties cannot access them. The files are uploaded to the file archive in the content management system, and are only available to the groups of NHH employees mentioned above. No copy of uploaded files is sent via email. When the case handler has received applications and files, the uploaded files are deleted from the file archive.

The web servers are located at NHH, and the Office of IT Services by the Head of IT services has the daily responsibility for operation, maintenance, security and development.
