Wallace Program Chair of Prestigious Conference
The International Conference on Stochastic Programming was, for the first time, organized in Norway.
Julio C. Góez hails from Medellín, Colombia. He started at NHH on December 12 2015 as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Business and Management Science, and is a member of the Centre for Shipping and Logistics. His research interests revolve around integer optimization and its applications in areas such as shipping and logistics, cloud computing, and electricity power systems. He also works on software development for optimization and Markov chains. Previously, he was at GERAD research center and Polytechnique Montréal as a postdoctoral fellow, were he was awarded one of the 2013 GERAD Postdoctoral Scholarships.
Julio received his Ph.D. at the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Lehigh University in September 2013. He worked on optimization algorithms and in optimization software development under the supervision of Dr. Tamás Terlaky. He received his M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Los Andes, Bogotá, Colombia, South America and held the position as an instructor there from September 2004 to July 2007. He received his B.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering in 2002 from the University of Antioquia, Medellín, Colombia. He is a member of INFORMS, SIAM, and Sigma Xi.

Stein W. Wallace has been invited to give a plenary session at the XV Conference on Computational Management Science (CMS)
The 15th CEMS Research Seminar on Supply Chain Management took place in Riezlern, Austria, from January 17 to 21, 2018.
Stein W. Wallace is the chair of the organizing committee of the 2018 INFORMS Transportation Science and Logistics Society Workshop.
The 14th CEMS Research Seminar on Supply Chain Management took place in Riezlern (Austria) from January 18 to 22, 2017. The seminar is the yearly event of the CEMS Faculty Group in Logistics and has long tradition. During many years, it has served as a venue for discussions for PhD students, as well as young and senior researchers with interest in a wide range of topics in supply chain management and logistics. The Centre for Shipping and Logistics at NHH was represented by its leader Stein W. Wallace, and contributed with the following presentations: - "Cost allocation and coalition formation in collaborative logistics", by the PhD student Ondrej Osicka - "Environmental benefits of collaboration and allocation of emissions in road freight transportation", by the Assistant Professor Mario Guajardo - "Dynamic Pricing and Revenue Optimization: Learning by Games", by the Assistant Professor Julio Goez More about the CEMS Research Seminar and the CEMS Faculty Group in Logistics can be found on: https://www.wiso.uni-koeln.de/fakultaet/fakultaetsbereiche/supply-chain-management/cems-research-conference/ http://www.cems.org/academic-members/faculty-groups/logistics
