Course evaluation

Course evaluation

All courses at NHH should be evaluated every teaching semester. The course evaluation has two components: student evaluation and the course responsible's report.

  • Student course evaluation

    Student course evaluation

The lecturer will receive an email in advance of the course evaluation with instructions and procedures. The evaluation consists of fixed questions. In addition, the course responsible can add questions that are relevant to the specific course and change the evaluation period.

Courses are evaluated by students every semester the course is taught. The evaluation takes place at the end of the semester. Students will receive an email when the evaluation starts and a notification about the evaluation in Canvas for each individual course they participate in.

When the evaluation is completed, the course responsible will receive an email with results. The system NHH uses is called "watermark CES".

Based on the results from the evaluation, the course responsible writes a course report, and sends this along with the evaluation to the program leader and the institute management.

The program leader and institute leader discuss the results in dialogue meetings each semester. Any measures are implemented by the course responsible, the institute or the program leader, depending on what type of measures they are.

The course evaluation is part of NHH's permanent quality system.

  • Lecturer's course report

    Lecturer's course report

Every semester a course is taught, the students should carry out a course evaluation and the course responsible should create a course report.

After the students have evaluated the course, you should assess and summarize the semester's teaching arrangement in the lecturer's course report.

In the report, you are also asked to evaluate the quality of support functions, as well as to provide details regarding internal and external contributors in teaching. This is information we depend on, among other things, in connection with our accreditation work.

The course report is delivered using a form that you will receive at the end of the semester, if you have been responsible for a course.

If you are curious about what the course report looks like, you can click here for a copy of the form. (NB! This copy should not be used in connection with the delivery of the course report - you will, as mentioned earlier, receive a link to a form).

    Example of course report

Your assessments, along with the students' evaluations, are sent to your institute management, relevant program leaders and teaching responsible, as well as the pro-rector for education. They form the basis for decision-making, among other things in the program committees.
