Investments, Insurance and Household Finance

The research group in investments, insurance and household finance does research in financial economics with a special emphasis on financial decision-making and risk management.

Important areas of research are actuarial science, asset management, behavioral economics, capital budgeting, financial aspects of energy and commodity markets, financial derivatives, the importance of financial reporting for capital markets, household finance, real options and responsible investments. The group has published in journals like Journal of Finance, Management Science, Journal of Risk and Insurance, Quantitative Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, European Accounting Review and Energy Journal.

The group hosts the annual Karl Borch lecture. Borch was Professor at NHH from 1963 to 1986 and is considered a founding father of the economics of uncertainty.
