
Bronze Sponge to Stig Tenold
Professor Stig Tenold has been awarded the bachelor students' lecturer for the course SAM18 – Maritime History and Economics. He is described as an engaging and inspiring lecturer, who is passionate about his course.
From the jury's statement:
"The recipient of this semester's Bronze Sponge is described as an engaging and inspiring lecturer, who is passionate about his course. Stig Tenold's effort to get to know the students, and his unique ability to include foreign students in the lecture, has to be honored.
In addition, StigTenold has supplemented the course SAM18 – Maritime History and Economics by providing the students with extra reading material and an excursion to DNB.
There is no doubt that Stig Tenold is a worthy winner of the Bronze Sponge, as he has done an outstanding job in teaching and developing this course."
In 2011, Stig was awarded the Master's students award for excellence in teaching.

The Bronze Sponge was first awared in 1972 to share an appreciation for lecturers that in the students’ eyes have made an extraordinary effort at teaching in bachelor courses.
