Gradual reopening of NHH campus

The management at NHH has chosen a strategy for the gradual reopening of campus in line with the authorities' recommendations. "We continuously assess the situation. We now open up so that up to 30 percent of employees can return to work on campus. But home office is still the main rule for now", says emergency preparedness manager Gunnar E. Christensen.

From 11 May 2020, the Norwegian government has implemented measures to gradually open the society. This means that also universities and colleges can now start to open their doors. However, the government still recommends home offices.

"The reason for why we open the doors so carefully in this round is that we want to see how things are going. If we see that it works well with up to 30 percent of employees physically present at NHH, we will expand gradually. We are constantly assessing when to increase the amount of employees on campus", explains Gunnar.

Employees who have special needs (government's wording) have priority in getting access to work on campus. Important conditions are that the guidelines to prevent infection are followed and that transport to and from NHH is carried out mainly without the use of public transport. Public transport can be a source of contamination and must be avoided as much as possible.
