Meet the students

Meet the students

Students are a diverse group and in your interaction with students, there are some resources you may need to be familiar with.

  • Student advisors

    Student advisors

In contact with students, it can be useful to know that NHH has three groups of student advisors.

    1. General guidance: The advisors can answer questions about admission, internal transfer, examinations, student life, etc. If a student has problems outside of academics, you can ask the student to contact this group of advisors.

    2. International opportunities: The advisors can answer questions about exchange programs, Innovation School, Erasmus+, ENGAGE.EU, Internship Abroad, or the CEMS and double degree programs at NHH.

    3. Career: The advisors can answer questions and assist with CV checks, application writing, provide advice on job opportunities, interview training, and coaching.

  • Students in crisis

    Students in crisis

Everyone at NHH may come into contact with students who are struggling.

    This can involve:

    • Illness
    • Various forms of pressure
    • Harassment (bullying, discrimination)
    • Other serious matters

If you come into contact with a student who is struggling and are unsure what to do, please contact a student advisor.

The student advisors have the knowledge and skills to assist students in difficult situations of various kinds, whether the students are at NHH or on a stay abroad. The student advisors can be contacted directly or they can be reached via the Service Centre (55 95 92 00) sc@nhh.no

Sometimes, students need help that the student advisors/NHH are not competent to provide. Then the student advisors have the opportunity to assist students in contacting relevant professional support services outside NHH.

In a few situations, however, the student advisors are not the natural first choice. This applies in cases of need for emergency assistance or in case of alerts.

    Emergency Assistance

In the event of a need for emergency assistance, contact Bergen Emergency Medical Centre (tel. 116117) or the Life Crisis Assistance (55 56 87 54).

    Alerts

This applies if there are violations of legal rules or ethical norms, such as harassment, bullying, and discrimination.

The best thing would be for the student themselves to report it by following the alert procedures, but you still have an independent responsibility to ensure that the information is passed on to one of the actors in the alert line.

  • Sikresiden (national portal)

    Sikresiden (national portal)

"Sikresiden" is a national portal that gathers various resources in prevention and acute situations. The information available is quality assured by experts in their field. The page has a number of links that are useful for employees at NHH.

The page is divided into two categories: "When something happens/ emergency" and "Preventive". The category "When something happens" has information about acute situations and has content such as: first aid, fire, internet fraud and cyber-attacks, threats and violent situations, etc.

The preventive category has, for example, information about: espionage, privacy, research ethics, copyright, radicalization, etc.

The page is also available for students and is promoted at the start of the study and throughout the semester.

Go to sikresiden.no and familiarize yourself with the content. You can also download a dedicated "sikresiden" app via the App Store or the Android Store.
