Tree moved from Merino to Helleveien

Last night, a tree of seven to eight metres was moved from the parking lot at Merino to the entrance in Helleveien. The tree weighs about three tons and has a circumference of about eight metres.

The tree was laid on a car and driven from Breiviksveien to Helleveien. In order for the transport vehicle to be able to get up Breiviksveien, the power and telephone lines had to be lifted up.

The copper maple tree is a gift from the owners of Merino, Jan Olav Jørgensen and Rolf Tore Andersen.

"I think this is a good solution for the tree, says project manager for the rehabilitation", Eivind Drange.

"There were two copper maple trees in the parking lot at Merino, and NHH got one of them. I do not know what will happen to the other, but it is great that the owners thought of us, and that the tree was not cut down", Eivind adds.
