Abstract: In this talk, I present the research project REPAI (Responsible AI for Value Creation). The project aims to understand and explain the adoption, employment, and outcomes of AI tools in Danish (DK) small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Next, I outline the empirical approach of the project, which combines a large survey data-set including more than 2100 participating firms with longitudinal register data. Then, I provide the initial descriptive findings of the mapping exercise (see attached) and discuss two ongoing research papers emerging from the project. One paper concerns the development of an AI maturity model for DK SMEs, and the second paper offers a survey experiment on SME managers' perceptions of using HR AI tools.
