Business and Human Rights: Essential Knowledge and Action for Managers

The corporate responsibility to respect human rights has been endorsed by governments worldwide and many multinational and smaller businesses and organisations. Managers need to develop their understanding, skills and capacity to implement best practice in their companies and organisations.

In this interactive session, you will learn about why human rights are important to business, how a company can have adverse impacts and how to identify, mitigate or avoid such risks, and what professional and personal skills employees and managers need in order to navigate this sometimes difficult issue within their organisations.

The session is designed to help you to  increase your skill sets and knowledge through practical case studies, role play and discussion.

Facilitators:

  • Ron Popper, Human Rights Consultant and former Head of Corporate Responsibility, ABB
  • Frances House, Deputy Executive Director of the Institute for Human Rights and Business, UK
