Teaching portfolio at NHH
Confirmed by the Academic Appointment Committee (June 2020) that the structure is to be used for applications for academic positions, promotions and the status as excellent teacher practitioner.
1. Biography
Brief description of the applicant and his / her teaching experience, including seniority as a teacher / supervisor and at what level the teaching / supervision has taken place.
2. Teaching philosophy
Description of the applicant's basic pedagogical views and values and how these are related to the choices of teaching methods and strategies that have been made. This includes reflections on one's own knowledge and views on learning, and should be rooted in theory, and demonstrate relevance to one's own practice.
3. Teaching and assessment repertoire
a. Table: Courses taught and teaching and assessment methods used.
b. Text: Which particular teaching strategies and assessment methods have been used and why? Context
4. Supervision
Experience and philosophy about supervision of students at the bachelor, master, and PhD level.
5. Pedagogical materials
Development of teaching aids and materials.
6. Teaching planning and contributions in own department, at NHH etc.
Experiences with course design, course and study plan work, experiences with collaboration with colleagues and students about teaching as well as other contributions to strengthen teaching and learning, especially at their own department.
7. Education Leadership and Management
Experience from formal and informal leadership roles and participation in formal committees and how applicants have contributed through these roles to strengthening the quality of teaching.
8. Evidence of Student Learning
Here, the applicant can briefly refer to and comments on other people's assessments, for example peer-to-peer reviews, comments from fellow censors, student evaluations, teaching awards etc. that the applicant finds particularly significant.
9. Dissemination
Papers, articles, talks, seminar contributions etc.
10. Reflections on own educational development
Here, the applicant, with anchoring in theory, will critically analyse and reflect on the ideas and methods that have influenced his / her practice and explain how such analysis and reflection have led to changes and will stimulate further development. Why has development work been undertaken, what has been learned, further plans for development? How have applicants documented and disseminated their own teaching experiences?
