Advisory Board at NHH to give strategic advice
The Advisory Board met at NHH to provide advice on how NHH can secure its position as a leading international business school.

Global megatrends and positioning of NHH were the first major topic up for discussion. Aksel Mjøs presented how NHH works with sustainable finance. Eirik Sjåholm Knudsen gave a presentation on how NHH is strengthening its efforts to build more expertise in artificial intelligence. Katrine Løken addressed the social side of sustainability, with inequalities and inclusion.
Technology, sustainability, globalization and an aging population are megatrends that will shape societal development, and will be important trends for both NHH and other social institutions. In addition, increased geopolitical tensions, wars and conflicts have dramatically changed the global outlook.
Updated SWOT analysis and relevance
A SWOT analysis from 2020/2021 on NHH's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats was also discussed. The Advisory Board had the opportunity to evaluate to what extent the elements in the SWOT analysis are still relevant.
Relevance in education was also an important topic for the meeting. Over time, NHH has increased the number of formalized internships integrated into the study programs. These internships usually combine lectures and a longer period as an intern in specific companies or institutions. Steffen Juranek shared reflections on how formalized internships can be organized.
'The Advisory Board meetings are important for gaining external perspectives on NHH’s work. The discussions were very engaging during the meeting last week,' says Rector Øystein Thøgersen.
Incoming Rector Helge Thorbjørnsen also participated, and was able to bring his input to the upcoming strategy period. The meeting was the very last for the current Advisory Board.
