Ready for Pride
From 13 to 21 June, Bergen celebrates Rainbow Days.

Bergen Pride is Norway's second largest Pride festival. The rich program spans nine days from the opening show at the student venue det Akademiske Kvarter on Friday, 13 June, and includes concerts, debates, workshops, and much more. As always, the parade in downtown Bergen is a central part of Pride. This year's edition takes place on Saturday, 21 June.
NHHS has marked Pride for several years, including through the group Queers & Allies, which was established in 2022.
Student Union president Mathias Weisæth emphasizes that Pride is important for several reasons.
"Pride is an incredibly important celebration of love, while also focusing on the challenges the queer community still faces. We are in many ways fortunate to live in Norway, but there are still prejudices and fear of being who you are, or loving who you love. As long as this is the case, there is still work to be done to create a safer and more inclusive society. Therefore, it is important to continue, both with the celebration of Pride and with the discussions Pride creates," he says.
