The Sámi National Day is celebrated in memory of the first Sami national meeting, which was held in the Methodist Church in Trondheim in 1917.

NHH participates in the celebration by raising the Sámi flag on campus.

The Sámi people is an indigenous people inhabiting the Sápmi region, an area that stretches across the northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia.
