The Grieg Group Visits The Rafto Challenge

Managing Director Gry Larsen from the Grieg Group is this year’s guest lecturer at The Annual Thorlof Rafto Challenge on Friday 18 October.

The Thorolf Rafto Challenge is an annual event hosted by NHH and the Rafto Foundation Foundation where business organizations are challenged to share information about human rights dilemmas they face in their value chains.

The Grieg Group operates within Seafood, Shipping, Shipbroking, Maritime Innovation, Logistics and Investments in 8 countries worldwide. It is led by the fourth and fifth generation of the Grieg family, 140 years after the company's beginnings in Bergen in 1884.

“We are most pleased that the Grieg Group took accepted the challenge. The industries in which the company operates have considerable human rights risk and the Grieg Group has shown a strong commitment to ensuring that such risks are identified and managed properly,” says co-arranger and NHH Professor Lars Jacob Tynes Pedersen.

The groups representative and guest speaker at the event is CEO and board member at the Grieg Foundation, Gry Larsen.

Prior to taking up her position with Grieg, Larsen had several years of experience from Norwegian Politics, serving as both president of the Norwegian Labour Youth, State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Political Advisor to the Foreign Minister from 2005-2013. She has also been Secretary General at CARE Norway.
