Calendar door 15: Øystein Thøgersen
In the fifteenth and last calendar door of the NHH Employee Calendar 2024 we find Rector Øystein, who is very passionate about Christmas decorations.

Rector Øystein Thøgersen is truly passionate about Christmas. Having worked at NHH since 1992, he has also had plenty of time to experience Christmas traditions at NHH.
'I like each and every NHH-event related to Christmas, whether it is Christmas gatherings in various offices or departments -- or the Christmas Town hall and lunch for all employees,' says Øystein.
'I also like the traditional Christmas lunch with the leaders of the student association very very much,' he adds.
Talking about Christmas food, our rector prefers a diverse approach: "Pinnekjøtt", "ribbe", turkey, desserts and cakes of various types...
'I say "yes, thank you" to it all,' is his conclusion.
It is fair to say that Øystein celebrates Christmas with a lot of enthusiasm and intensity! We can reveal that Øystein puts a fascinating amount of time and energy into Christmas decorations. Decorating the Christmas tree, for example, must be taken very seriously, according to Øystein.
This Christmas will be busy for Øystein. He will spend some days in London with his son (who lives there) and some days at Bømlo together with his wife's family. Around New Year’s Day, he and his wife will also spend some days at the Canary Island to recharge batteries before the next semester kicks off and he has to get back to rector business for another semester.

During workdays in December, Paraplyen will present colleagues and their end-of-the-year traditions. In total 15 employees will share their own special traditions.
In Øystein’s wishes for Christmas spending time with family is key.
'On a more general note, a more peaceful world would be great,' he also adds.
