Calendar door 12: Tomi Rajala

In the twelfth calendar door of the NHH Employee Calendar 2024 we find Tomi, who loves to sing Christmas carols and wishes for everyone to experience a little magic of the season.

Tomi Rajala comes from Sahalahti (Finland) and has been working at the Department of Accounting, Auditing and Law for almost three years.

Tomi’s favorite Christmas tradition is the feeling of serenity that lasts through Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This feeling comes from being able to spend peaceful time with family, he concludes. His Christmas wish is based on this: He wishes for everyone celebrating Christmas to experience a little magic of the season.

Magic is for many also linked to food and picking a favorite is not an easy task. After some reflection, he concludes that it is a tie between Finnish chocolate and candy, and sweetened potato casserole.

During workdays in December, Paraplyen will present colleagues and their end-of-the-year traditions. In total 15 employees will share their own special traditions.

In Bergen, Tomi and his loved one go to sing Christmas carols with the local Finnish community in Bergen. You may also meet them at the Christmas market in Festplassen, having a Christmas beer or Christmas soda.

To break all his previous Christmas traditions, this year Tomi will spend Christmas in Syracuse, Sicily.
