Ingrid Norgren to SAM

Ingrid Norgren has started in a permanent position as higher executive officer at the Department of Economics. Her main responsibilities are to keep track of the department's finances, with particular focus on research projects.

This includes the processing of fees, invoices, reimbursements and internal applications for research funding; as well as annuum, publication bonus and other individual funds.

She will also work with procurement, agreements with external suppliers and other operational tasks at the department.

"I like working with finances, and prefer a job with numerous different tasks. I’ve worked in a temporary position at the department for six months already, and find that I enjoy the working environment at SAM. The position also offers the opportunity to participate at academic seminars on occasion. This is a big plus, as I am interested in several of the research areas at the department.

Background

Ingrid has previously worked in the hotel industry, where she has spent the last eight years. I started as a receptionist, was promoted to front office manager, and later worked as acting general manager and revenue manager.

"I had many finance related tasks in these positions, and I realized that I wanted to learn more about finance and economics. I enrolled at the University of Bergen, and took a master's degree in economics (2020). While studying I kept working with finances at the hotel until I was laid off due to corona in March".

Also Ingrid's bachelor's degree is from UoB (2018).

Mai-Linn Spigseth had this position previously. She doesn't work at NHH any longer.
