Covid-19 infection among contruction workers
One case of Covid-19 has been reported among the construction workers who are working on the rehabilitation of NHH. The case of infection was reported on Wednesday.
Several workers have been quarantined, but it is not known how many. It is Statsbygg as the owner who handles the infection situation, and the Infection Control Office that does infection tracking.
- The construction workers work mainly in closed areas that are being rebuilt, so that in principle there are very few contact surfaces between the construction workers and employees or students, says project manager for the rehabilitation project, Eivind Drange.
Hent is the general contractor for the rehabilitation project and brings in available manpower to replace workers who are in quarantine. According to the plan, the rehabilitation of NHH will be completed by 11 December.
"It is too early to say whether Covid-19 disease can delay the schedule. The point of departure for Statsbygg is still that the project will be completed in line with the schedule," says Eivind.
