Jøril Mæland joined the Norwegian School of Economics in her current position in 2004. In the period 2013-2021 she was Head of Department at the Department of Finance. She holds a PhD in financial economics (2001) and a Master of Science degree from NHH.
Mæland's research focuses on real options, agency problems, and capital structure. She has published in international and national journals and taught derivatives and risk management, investments and fixed income securities at the master’s level.
