International conference on Anglicism Building the Global Anglicism Database

With the occasion of this Conference the first steps will be taken towards building a Global Anglicism Database (GLAD). The primary objective of the GLAD Network, recently created, is the observation of the growing Anglicization of world languages, especially focusing on European languages.

Other contents: Stating who is part of the project, number of languages involved, definition of Anglicism, deadlines for future initiatives/meetings/conferences, deciding who does what from now on, e.g. collecting national bibliographies on Anglicism studies, gathering Anglicism-related events going on in Europe/worldwide, setting up the profile of each scholar on the GLAD website
