This week Torfinn Harding and Po Yin Wong are participating at a workshop in Washington D.C. The Meeting is hosted by The World Bank and NHH.

The workshop in Washington D.C. is hosted by The World Bank (The Office of Chief Economist in the Africa Region) and Norwegian School of Economics.

Torfinn Harding is Associate professor at Department of Economics at NHH. His research focuses on economic development, with an emphasis on natural resources and international trade and investments. He is giving the lecture «Economic Growth and Deforestation».

He leads a young-researcher project from the Torfinn Harding is one of the researchers behind the new project Tropical Deforestation and Economic Development - a joint project between researchers from NHH, Oxford and several other recognised institutions Council of Norway on tropical deforestation and economic development.

Po Yin Wong at Department of Economics (NHH) held the lecture «Does it Work to Pay to be Green? Evidence from Brazil’s Bolsa Verde Program».

Wong joined NHH as an assistant professor in August, 2015. She received her PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2015.

Her primary research interests are in development economics, environmental and resource economics, and applied microeconomics. She is part of the Tropical Deforestation and Economic Development research project headed by Torfinn Harding.
