The program provides an economics education with a specialization in technology. Data analysis, programming, more advanced mathematics, applied statistics and artificial intelligence will be central subjects.

`This is a response to the need for specialist skills in working life and interest from existing and potential future students,´ says NHH's rector Øystein Thøgersen.

The programme provides admission to the Master's programme in Economics and Business Administration at NHH, like the existing Bachelor in Economics and Business Administration (BØA) does.

`The new bachelor's degree makes it possible for applicants with an additional interest in technology and mathematics to follow their professional interests and to build competence and skills related to these,´says Thøgersen.

NHH AT THE TOP

For the fourth year in a row, the Norwegian School of Economics has the country’s most popular study programmes: 2,170 applicants have NHH as their first choice. ‘A rock-solid education for the labour market of the future,’ says Rector Øystein Thøgersen.

Goodbye for now

• Teaching is given exclusively in English, and NHH will also recruit international students.

• The admission requirements for students with a Norwegian degree are the same as for the Bachelor in Economics and Business Administration, that is, a requirement for mathematics R1 or S1+S2.

• The new bachelor's programme will give admission to the Master's in Economics and Business administration. A Completed master's degree will give the title “siviløkonom”.

• Between 70 and 90 students will be admitted to the new programme.

Piketty attracted a record-breaking audience

`Historically, we see a movement towards greater economic and political equality. I believe there is reason to be optimistic, said Thomas Piketty, giving this year's Sandmo Lecture at NHH.
