Haiying Jia joined NHH in her current position in 2019 after five years as a researcher at the Center for Applied Research at NHH (SNF). During the academic year of 2018/19, Jia was a visiting scholar at the Center for Transportation and Logistics at MIT. Jia holds a PhD in Finance from Cass Business School, UK, and a MSc degree from Dalian Maritime University, China. Jia currently teaches the courses Shipping economics and analytics, and Ship finance and Marine insurance.
Jia’s research interests include digitalization in shipping, environmental upgrading of supply chains and smart contracts. Dr. Jia has published extensively in the areas of maritime big data analytics and applications, the impact of environmental regulation and risk analysis in top academic journals, such as Transportation Research Part A/D/E, Transport Reviews, and Journal of Cleaner Production.
