BIOGraphy

Frode Sættem is currently serving as Vice Rector for Faculty Management at NHH Norwegian School of Economics.

Sættem is a Professor at the Department of Business and Management Science. Sættem has a Master of Science degree (siviløkonom HAE) from NHH and received his Dr. Oecon. degree at NHH in 1990. Sættem was Researcher at the Centre of Applied Research (SNF) at NHH until he joined the Department in 1998. Sættem was Centre Director/Program Director (part time position) at SNF until 2014. Sættem has been Head of Department for the period 2010-2017 and member of the NHH Board for the period 2017-2021. Sættem has been Adjunct Professor at Nord University Business School for the period 2004-2023.

His research interests are in financial economics. He has published in a variety of academic journals, including Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Futures Markets, Scandinavian Journal of Economics and European Accounting Review. Sættem has received several best teaching awards, including NHH’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and NHH Student Association’s Teaching Award. He has also been involved in NHH’s executive education for many years.
