BIOGraphy

Frode Sættem is a Professor at the Department of Business and Management Science. He holds a Master of Science degree (siviløkonom HAE) from NHH and earned his Dr. Oecon. degree from NHH in 1990. Sættem worked as a Researcher at the Centre for Applied Research (SNF) before joining the Department in 1998. He also served as Centre Director/Program Director (part-time) at SNF until 2014. At NHH, he has been Head of Department (2010–2017), a member of the Board (2017–2021), and Vice Rector for Faculty Management (2021–2025). From 2004 to 2023, he was Adjunct Professor at Nord University Business School.

His research interests are in financial economics. He has published in a variety of academic journals, including Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Futures Markets, Scandinavian Journal of Economics and European Accounting Review. Sættem has received several awards for teaching excellence, including NHH’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and NHH Student Association’s Teaching Award. He has also contributed extensively to NHH’s executive education programs.
