Course and exams registration for internal PhD candidates

Course and exams registration for internal PhD candidates

Internal candidates must register for courses and exams in Studentweb.

In order to register for courses you need to conduct the semester registration in Studentweb.

  • 1 February for the spring semester
  • 1 September for the autumn semester

Log in to Studentweb by using Feide (student account, not employee account) or Norwegian ID-number and PIN.

Note that as a PhD student you should not pay the semester fee.

Please make sure that the contact information in Studentweb is correct.

How to register for courses and exams

Remember to sign up for class and exam in each of the courses you plan to take this semester.

Deadlines for course registration are normally 1 February and 1 September.

Withdrawing from an examination

If you wish to withdraw from the examination you must do so via Studentweb or in writing to phd@nhh.nono later than three weeks before the date of the examination/submission of home examination.

If you fail to withdraw before the deadline, the exam registration will count as one attempted examination. Courses can be retaken once.

Legitimate absence from an examination

A legitimate absence is not considered an examination attempt. After the deadline for withdrawing has passed, documented illness is the only legitimate reason for being absent from an examination.

Documentation (the only valid documentation is a fit note/sick note/sickness certificate/”sykmelding”) from a licensed doctor (GP) or specialist must be sent to the first working day after the examination at the latest. Please specify which examination(s)/course code the absence applies for in the email. The sickness certificate must be dated before or on the day of the examination.

If you do not attend the examination at the determined time without valid reason for absence, and has not withdrawn from the examination, it will be registered as "not attended". "Not attended" is regarded as an attempt to sit the examination.
