Postdoctoral Positions in Labour Economics
We are hiring two postdoctoral researchers in labour economics to join an international and collaborative research environment at FAIR – Centre for Experimental Research on Fairness, Inequality and Rationality – at the Department of Economics, Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).
Both positions are three-year appointments starting in August 2027, linked to two research projects examining how labour-market structures and institutions shape productivity, working conditions and worker well-being. The positions also offer opportunities to contribute to ongoing research while developing an independent research agenda.
We are looking for motivated and collaborative researchers with a strong background in applied microeconomics, particularly labour, public, personnel or organisational economics.
Position 1: FOUNDATIONS – The Foundations of Labor Productivity
Funded by the European Research Council (ERC), the FOUNDATIONS project examines how labour-market structures influence worker sorting and learning, firm strategy, workplace organisation and productivity. The successful candidate will work closely with Alexander Willén and other researchers at FAIR, combining surveys, experiments and administrative data to study questions related to market power, human capital and productivity.
Position 2: Labour-Market Structures, Working Conditions, and Worker Well-Being
Funded by the Research Council of Norway (FRIPRO), this project investigates how labour-market structures and institutions affect working conditions and workers' broader life outcomes. The successful candidate will work closely with Katrine Løken, Alexander Willén and other FAIR researchers on questions related to employer power, worker voice, unions and worker well-being.
