For the position in behavioural economics:

Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) in Bergen, Norway, invites applicants for a three-year postdoctoral position in Behavioural Economics at the Department of Economics.

We are looking for an excellent economist with expected completion of PhD no later than date of commencement. In the assessment of applicants, international experience and qualifications will be emphasized. In the event of equivalent qualifications, female applicants will be given preference.

The Department has high ambitions in terms of research where the main research areas in addition to Behavioural Economics are; Labor Economics, Development Economics, Industrial Organization, Macro- and Resource Economics, International Trade and Applied Microeconomics.

The position is a part of the Centre of Excellence, FAIR. Research in behavioral economics at FAIR focuses on understanding how moral and selfish motives shape individual behavior and how these motives are shaped by the institutions in society. The group has large research projects on inequality acceptance, personal responsibility, and paternalism. The new hire will be encouraged to work on these topics, but also to develop an individual research agenda in collaboration with the members of the research group. The position will involve moderate administrative duties.

The position is based in Bergen, but research travel will be encouraged and there are also opportunities for research stays at collaborating institutions.

Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) in Bergen, Norway, invites applicants for a three-year postdoctoral position in Labor Economics with a focus on combining register, experimental and surveys in analyzing child development, intergenerational mobility and education at the Department of Economics.

The Department has high ambitions in terms of research where the main research areas in addition to Labor Economics are; Behavioral Economics, Development Economics, Industrial Organization, Macro- and Resource Economics, International Trade and Applied Microeconomics.

Research in applied labor at FAIR focuses on understanding the drivers of inequality with a particular focus on how inequality develops over the life cycle from pre-school and even pre-natal, during school, and in the labor market and even across generations. The research groups work with population wide register data, and for this position there will be a special focus on combining register data with experimental and survey data to understand drivers of inequality. Both the labor group and the behavioral group will be involved in this effort. The labor group has many large research projects on inequality in general, including on childhood development, intergenerational mobility and crime. The new hire will be encouraged to work on these topics, but also to develop an individual research agenda in collaboration with the members of the research group. The position will involve moderate administrative duties.
