Azerbaijan, BAKU
YEAR OF STUDY:
MASTER’S STUDENT, SECOND YEAR
SPECIALISATION:
FINANCIAL ECONOMICS

What are you looking forward to as a student ambassador?

‘I have experienced the same challenges the potential applicants may encounter, and I have stressed myself about so many things before arriving to Norway. I know that it is always nice and comforting to be able to chat with the people who have gone through the same process. Therefore, I decided to be a student ambassador and help potential students with their questions and concerns about the new chapter of their life at NHH. Besides that, this job allows me to be a part of NHH not only as a student but also as a representative. I feel excited about all the work we will do together to recruit the new master’s students at NHH and offer them many opportunities.’

What do you want to communicate about NHH?

‘I would like to show potential applicants what it is like being a full-time master’s student here at NHH and help them to find answers to their questions. NHH is a Triple Crown School and has the best master’s program in Business and Economics in Norway. A degree from NHH opens many doors for students and fresh graduates, as well as giving you a fulfilling student life during these two years.’

Why did you choose NHH?

‘I chose NHH, because I fell in love with Norway when I was very young and promised myself to move to Norway in the future. After some quick research I found out that NHH is the best school for my future career and offers me flexibility in my studies. I particularly liked the minor program and decided to combine two fields in one degree, and I think this will give me some advantage in the job market.’

What do you find most interesting within business and administration? What do you want to work with in the future?

‘I am studying major in Finance and minor in Business Analytics. I have always felt excited about business and economics because I think that the efficient allocation of resources is an important factor of success. I want to be a part of today’s transition and help companies to developed sustainable business models.’

What is your best NHH memory?

‘I am big fan of Norway’s «friluft» culture and I love being in the nature. Therefore, I joined NHHI Friluft, which is a student club for nature and hiking lovers. Last month we went on an overnight cabin trip together with the group members to Gullhorgabu. It was a 18-kilometer hike in the mountains, and we stayed at a minimalistic cabin with no electricity and running water. Being away from the city life for one day was really refreshing. We spent the whole day playing games and talking about our memories. Around midnight, one of the members screamed: «Northern lights». Northern lights were out, and it was a fascinating moment.’

MARKETING AND BRAND MANAGEMENT

What are you looking forward to as a student ambassador?

‘I’m looking forward to talking with and helping new international prospective students and using what I have learned from my first year of master’s studies at NHH.’

What do you want to communicate about NHH?

‘I want to communicate life at NHH and Bergen. NHH is an amazing school but there is also so much more that comes with it, especially for an international student that moves to Norway. I want to show student life in Bergen through my eyes. That is at least what I would have appreciated when I was thinking about studying at NHH.’

Why did you choose NHH?

‘I chose NHH because of the reputation of the school and because my intention is to work in Norway after my graduation. Getting a job as a not native Norwegian speaker is not easy but having a degree from a school like NHH really helps to get job interviews. I also chose NHH because of Bergen and the nature that surrounds it.’

What do you find most interesting within business and administration? What do you want to work with in the future?

‘The doors that it opens and that it does not close many. At NHH we have a huge number of courses to choose from, and you can really tailor your studies to your interests. The fact that I can combine marketing with finance or leadership, or any other combination is just amazing. In the future, I want to work with a big outdoor brand and do marketing and branding for them.’

What is your best NHH memory?

‘It is really hard to choose only one thing, but I would say – the same as Aygyl – the trip with NHHI Frluft to the cabin Gullhorgabu. We made good food and at the night we saw the northern lights. It was such an amazing way to get away from everything and just spend time with great people, without thinking about studies or anything else.’

What are you looking forward to as a student ambassador?

‘I am looking forward to getting to connect with prospective students from around the world and help them in their own university application process as well as work with a great team of ambassadors!’

What do you want to communicate about NHH?

‘I want to be able to share my own experiences as an international student coming to Norway and studying at NHH. I hope to be able to guide them as previous NHH ambassadors did for me.’

Why did you choose NHH?

‘I chose NHH for the opportunity to study at a high caliber business school in Europe, in connection with a dual degree from my home university in Canada. The research opportunities, facilities, and exciting student life were all major factors as well.’

What do you find most interesting within business and administration? What do you want to work with in the future?

‘Studying business and administration at NHH has allowed me to explore many career options and industries that I had never considered. During the NHH CareerFair I was able to connect with several industry professionals from a range of companies who helped me understand more about my future career choices and options.’

What is your best NHH memory?

‘My favorite NHH memory so far was attending the surf trip at Boretunet with Lurken Skilag, a ski team on campus. We spent the weekend at a cabin close to the beach in South-West Norway, surfing every morning and having cozy afternoons. There is a club for every interest or hobby you may have at NHH, so I highly recommend getting involved with campus life and sharing your interests!’
