NØSTBAKKEN APPOINTED HEAD OF NEW AQUACULTURE COMMITTEE

The new committee will look at licences in the aquaculture industry. Research director and adjunct professor Linda Nøstbakken will chair the committee.

The Government presented its new aquaculture strategy ‘An Ocean of Opportunities’ in July. One of its measures was to appoint a committee to review the licensing system in the aquaculture industry.

‘The design and focus of a licence system is pivotal to the aquaculture industry’s framework conditions and competitiveness. This committee will assess a comprehensive field that cuts across several disciplines, and that is very significant to one of Norway’s biggest export industries,’ says Minister of Fisheries and Seafood Odd-Emil Ingebrigtsen in a press release.

Linda Nøstbakken will chair the committee. She is a research director at Statistics Norway and an adjunct professor at NHH.
