Academic prizes to Aase

Professor Knut Aase has been awarded two prestigious academic prizes in 2017 for two papers on life insurance and pension contracts.

Professor Knut K. Aase at the Department of Business and Management Science (NHH) has recently been awarded the Bob Alting von Geusau Prize. His paper «Life insurance and pension contracts 1: The time additive life cycle model» was published in ASTIN Bulletin in 2015.

The Prize Committee judged Aase´s paper to be the (joint) best paper with a Financial Risk or ERM focus published in ASTIN Bulletin during 2015. The prize is sponsored by finance section of the International Actuarial Association (IAA).

The Committee commended its broad coverage and its potential interest to both educators and practitioners, a recommendation that was endorsed by the AFIR-ERM committee.

Aase is also invited to present the paper at the next AFIR-ERM colloquium in Panama City in August 2017.

Aase´s paper «Life Insurance and Pension Contracts II: The life cycle model with recursive utility» was published in ASTIN Bulletin in 2016. He was awarded a prize by the International Actuarial Association, the PBSS Section (Pension, Benefits and Social Security).
