NOK 23 mill to Shipping and Logistics

Centre for Shipping and Logistics receives more than NOK 23 million from the Research Council of Norway´s programme targeted towards the maritime industry and their research partners.

Last week Centre for shipping and Logistics at SNF and NHH did very well at this year’s MAROFF funding round. All three of the center´s applications went through.

This resulted in new external funding for the 2018 – 2021 period. Centre for Shipping and Logistics receives more than NOK 23 million from the Research Council of Norway´s programme targeted towards the maritime industry and their research partners.

 

  • «Smart digital contracts and commercial management» (SmartDigital), project manager, Dr. Haiying Jia, SNF, NOK 12.7 million, KPN project with partners Bergen Shipowners Association, BIMCO, MIT etc.
  • «Logistics and Economics of Autonomous Vessels» (AutoELog), project manager, Professor Stein W. Wallace, NOK 9.7 million, Researcher project with partners Wartsila, Fjellstrand, NYK etc
  • «Shifting Cargo to Sea with Autonomous Transport Systems» (SATS), Professor Gunnar S. Eskeland (project owner is SINTEF Ocean)

 

The projects will add 2 postdocs, one PhD and 1.5 SNF researcher position to the research group, and builds competencies in the up-and-coming areas of digitalization and autonomous vessels.

Logistics and Maritime Systems

140 participants are gathered at NHH for three and a half days to attend the 7th International Conference on Logistics and Maritime Systems.

New article by Mirhedayatian and Yan

The article "A framework to evaluate policy options for supporting electric vehicles in urban freight transport" has been published in Transportation Research Part D: Transport and Environment.
