From the Bank of Finland to a PhD at NHH
Heidi Koponen has always been drawn to the field of macroeconomics and policy.
Heidi is a PhD Research Scholar at NHH, affiliated with the Macroeconomics group. Her research interests lie at the intersection of macroeconomics and finance, with a particular focus on banking and financial markets.
Her current work examines how bank branch closures affect credit allocation and firm outcomes. Prior to starting her PhD, she was an economist at the Bank of Finland, where her work focused on financial stability and macroprudential regulation. She holds a Master's degree from Aalto University, Finland.
