Marianne is a PhD Research Scholar at the Department of Economics, affiliated with FAIR at the Norwegian School of Economics. She holds an M.Sc in Applied Economics, a professional degree in Business Engineering, and a B.Sc in Economics from the University of Chile.
Through her predoctoral research experience, her interests have developed at the intersection of development and labour economics, focusing on education quality, non-cognitive skills development, and gendered career trajectories.
She has gained extensive research experience through Research Assistant positions at multiple institutions including Oslo Metropolitan University and University of Chile, a Predoctoral Fellowship at the Norwegian School of Economics, and a Researcher position at the Center for Public Systems (University of Chile), along with fieldwork experience in rural Tanzania and an internship at the Central Bank of Chile.
Her work has been part of collaborative projects supported by international funding bodies such as the Templeton Foundation, ANID, and Erasmus+ grants. She has also been involved in partnerships with government agencies and private organisations including Chile's Ministry of Energy, the Chilean Safety Association (ACHS) and the Financial Market Commission (CMF).
