
We’re Hiring: Research Data Manager
FAIR is looking for a skilled and motivated Research Data Manager to help strengthen our research infrastructure and data management practices.
We are hiring a Research Data Manager to strengthen our work with register data and support our team of researchers in data-intensive projects. This is a key role for ensuring secure, accurate, and well-documented research data that meets ethical and legal standards.
Key Responsibilities
As our new Research Data Manager, you will:

Maintain and expand our research database, including testing, validating, and documenting new and existing datasets

Support researchers in projects involving Norwegian register data

Collaborate with the Research Data Manager responsible for experimental and survey data

Assist in drafting applications for data access and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), in cooperation with researchers and the Data Protection Officer

Report data usage to relevant authorities

Manage user accounts and track data access permissions
Tasks may evolve over time in response to FAIR’s needs and ongoing projects.
Qualifications
Required:

Relevant higher education, preferably a master’s degree (equivalent documented experience may be accepted in exceptional cases)

At least three years of relevant experience (a relevant PhD may substitute for work experience)

Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Norwegian and English

Strong IT proficiency
Preferred:
-
Experience with Linux systems and databases, as well as tools such as Stata, R, and Python

Familiarity with Norwegian administrative register data
-
Knowledge of personal data protection and data handling procedures in research settings
