FAIR Development Workshop 2025
The FAIR Development Workshop, held on May 20, 2025, brought together an outstanding group of international researchers to discuss cutting-edge work in development economics.
A Forum for Emerging Ideas
The FAIR Development Workshop focused on early-stage research, offering presenters the valuable opportunity to receive feedback from leading economists in the field. With an emphasis on work-in-progress, the format encouraged open, candid discussions and idea exchange across a wide range of topics in development economics — from education and health to gender dynamics, labor markets, and governance.
Each paper was allocated a presentation slot and discussion period, allowing for in-depth exploration of methodology, context, and policy relevance.

Strengthening the Global Research Community
More than just a series of presentations, the workshop served as a hub for cross-institutional connection and mentorship, especially for early-career researchers. In addition to the academic programme, informal conversations over coffee and shared meals helped build meaningful relationships and foster future collaborations.
By creating space for critical reflection and constructive feedback in a welcoming and inclusive environment, FAIR continues to cultivate a vibrant research community at the intersection of development, labour and behavioral economics.
