A Team Effort That Put Bergen on the Map
FAIR is proud to be part of the Bergen Ambassador Network, which highlights efforts to strengthen the city’s role as an international destination for academic events.
Two members of the FAIR community were recently recognised through the ambassador network led by the University of Bergen (UiB), Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL), the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), Bergen Municipality, and Visit Bergen. The network acknowledges individuals and institutions that help position Bergen as a hub for international conferences and academic collaboration.
Organising successful international events requires careful planning, collaboration, and strong institutional support. At FAIR, this work is truly a team effort, involving close cooperation across research and administration. From logistics and coordination to communication and hosting, many contribute to making international events a success.
This year, two ambassadors with strong ties to FAIR were acknowledged. We are especially pleased to see Kjell G. Salvanes, Deputy Director at FAIR, recognised for his longstanding contributions to Bergen’s international academic reputation. Adriana Condarco-Quesada, Head of Administration, was also recognised for her involvement in organising an international event, reflecting the strong collaborative effort across FAIR’s administrative and academic teams. The FAIR team’s role in making these events successful further underscores the value of coordinated contributions across the centre.
The Bergen Ambassador Network encourages more researchers and institutions to take the lead in hosting international conferences. The network meets twice a year to exchange knowledge and share experiences, and participation is entirely voluntary.
FAIR is proud to be part of this community and will continue to contribute to making Bergen a welcoming, visible, and dynamic city for research and academic exchange.
