Nils Friewald appointed professor

Nils Friewald has been appointed full Professor of Finance at NHH. His research fields are empirical asset pricing and market microstructure.

In market microstructure, Nils Friewald studies liquidity effects in illiquid over-the counter markets. In asset pricing, he explores interlinkages across equity and credit markets. His work typically combines theory and empirical work, either by empirically testing implications of well-established theoretical models or by extending such theoretical models when necessary.

His considerable knowledge within the field has allowed him to successfully teach and supervise at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, including supervision of PhD students.

Nils has published in top journals: Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies and Journal of Financial Economics. His work has received several grants and awards including the Best Paper Award of the Midwest Finance Association and the Best Paper Award of the Chinese Finance Association.

Nils is a Research Affiliate in the Financial Economics program at the Centre for Economic Policy Research and an Associate Faculty member of the Vienna Graduate School of Finance.
