Kenneth Fjell new Vice Rector for Research

NHH’s board has appointed Professor Kenneth Fjell as Vice Rector for Research. Fjell will take over the position 1 January 2018.

As Vice Rector, Fjell will be responsible for research, researcher education and knowledge dissemination at NHH. He will also be head of the Office of Research Administration.

Rector Øystein Thøgersen is pleased that Professor Fjell will join the management team.

“Kenneth Fjell knows NHH very well. In addition to his excellent research and dissemination skills, he has long administrative experience from his period as dean. Thus, he will make important contributions both to research-matters and to the management team,” says Thøgersen.

Kenneth Fjell joined NHH in 2002. He is a professor at the Department of Accounting, Auditing and Law. He was Dean for the Master’s Programmes from 2011 to 2015.

Fjell received his PhD from The University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in 1998. From 1998 to 2001 he worked as a researcher and programme co-ordinator at SNF. He has also been a senior adviser at The Norwegian Competition Authority.

Kenneth Fjell takes over from Professor Helge Thorbjørnsen, who has been a member of NHH’s top management team since August 2013.
