NHH celebrates renewed funding for ENGAGE.EU

‘This support enables us to continue our important work, driving collaboration and innovation among European educational institutions,’ says NHH Rector Øystein Thøgersen.

European university alliance ENGAGE.EU receives renewed funding of € 14.4 million, announced by the European Commission Monday 3 July. The renewal highlights the importance of the alliance's work and its commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation among European higher educational institutions. 

In addition to the European Commission grant, each university will contribute to the total budget of 18 million available for the next period (2023-2027).

World-class in-house programmes

ENGAGE.EU

  • ENGAGE.EU is an alliance of leading European universities in business, economics, and social sciences, with the goal of providing European citizens with the skills and competences needed to tackle major societal challenges.
  • These challenges, such as digitalization and artificial intelligence, climate change, aging societies, and migration, must be successfully addressed to ensure a sustainable and positive future.
  • NHH is the only Norwegian member of the an alliance.

Brings together prestigious universities

ENGAGE.EU is a European university alliance, where NHH Norwegian School of Economics is the only Norwegian member. Rector Øystein Thøgersen expresses his enthusiasm for the ongoing work of the alliance, stating:

‘We are delighted to receive renewed funding for ENGAGE.EU. This support enables us to continue our important work, driving collaboration and innovation among European educational institutions.’ 

ENGAGE.EU brings together prestigious universities in Europe to promote cross-border partnerships, exchange programs, and research initiatives in business, economics, and social sciences. The alliance plays a vital role in addressing pressing global challenges, and highlight topics like sustainability and digitalisation.

‘Make a lasting impact’

Rector Thøgersen emphasises the significance of the ENGAGE.EU alliance and its role in shaping the future of European higher education.

‘The ENGAGE.EU alliance plays a pivotal role in addressing major societal challenges of our time, and we are excited to intensify our efforts. With all nine partners working together, we can make a lasting impact on the academic landscape,’ he says.

The funding provides ENGAGE.EU with the resources necessary to advance its mission of promoting interdisciplinary research, knowledge exchange, and international cooperation. The European Union's continued support acknowledges the value and potential of the alliance's initiatives in driving European excellence and competitiveness in higher education.
