The PISA score less relevant for productivity

Chronicle by Jan Ubøe: We take better care of each other if we reduce the sizes of schools and classes. This is much more important for the quality of our schools than the PISA score, which is of less relevance.

Schools and the educational system are obviously important for a nation's productivity, but factors like trust, self-determination, originality and good interpersonal skills are much more important than something as quantifiable as the PISA score, which is of little or no significance.

Matters related to ethics and morality, however, are of vital importance for productivity in a community, Professor Jan Ubøe writes in his chronicle PISA-score har liten betydning for produktivitet (in Norwegian), which was published in Aftenposten on April 24, 2017.
