Marek Reuters

Marek is an assistant professor at the Department of Accounting at Stockholm School of Economics, and is affiliated researcher at the Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets. He has completed his PhD at the University of Innsbruck.

Marek’s research primarily focuses on the institutionalization and organizational implications of contemporary social and environmental accounting and auditing (SEA) technologies and frameworks. He has, for example, studied political processes in SEA standard setting or how organizational members make sense of SEA practices within organizational context. One of his major ongoing research projects focuses on sustainability governance in transnational fast-fashion supply chains. Among other issues, this project investigates the implications of a ‘collaborative paradigm’ which is claimed to move inter-organizational sustainability governance ‘beyond compliance’. Marek’s research approach is mainly coined by qualitative methods and constructivist methodology.
