ASSISTANT PROFESSOR HENNING HERMES NEW RESEARCH AFFILIATE AT CEPR

Our Assistant Professor, Henning Hermes, was appointed as a new Research Affiliate at CEPR.

FAIR's Assistant Professor Henning Hermes was appointed as a new Research Affiliate at CEPR, December 2020. Hermes is currently on a research stay at the Frankfurt Laboratory for Experimental Economic Research (FLEX) at Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany.

The Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) aims to enhance the quality of economic policy-making within Europe and beyond. The aim is to do this by fostering high quality, policy-relevant economic research, and disseminating it widely to decision-makers in the public and private sector.

The researchers that are appointed as Affiliates are promising young researchers who have completed a Ph.D. within the past seven years. CEPR promotes the work of these young economists by providing research support and an appropriate environment within which to enter the international scene.

Congratulations Henning!

Henning was also on the 2020/2021 Job Market with his job market paper "Behavioral Barriers and the Socioeconomic Gap in Child Care Enrollment".

For this paper, Henning conducted a field experiment, demonstrating that the socioeconomic gap in the take-up of universal child care is substantially determined by behavioral barriers. The paper was presented at the ASSA 2021 meeting as part of a submitted session on Field Experiments in Early Childhood Education and Care.
