The integrity of the oil fund requires cowardice

Gunnar S. Eskeland: The oil fund is a very vulnerable transfer of value to future generations. It may require both cowardice and musicality.

There is no "misunderstanding" or failed communication when "the impression is created that which shares the fund owns have significance for the world", as Espen Henriksen writes in DN on 19 August.

The vulnerability of the oil fund is illustrated in Henriksen's logic: He says that they probably lost money by selling the shares quickly. Maybe? Gunnar S. Eskeland asks.

His feature article Oljefondets integritet krever feighet (in Norwegian) was published in Dagens Næringsliv on 20 August, 2025.
