IT Support for students

Below is an overview of the NHH IT services.

  • Username and password

    Username and password

    Username

    Your student number is the username for all IT services where you sign in with Feide. The username for all other IT services is your student email. 

    The format of the student number and the student email are the following:

    Studentnumber

    sXXXXXX

    Email address

    firstname.surname@student.nhh.no

    Password

    The same password is applied to all IT services at NHH. New students must create a password. If you have forgotten your password, please change it.

    The password must fulfil the following requirements.

    • contain at least 12 characters.
    • contain both uppercase and lowercase letters.
    • contain at a number or a special character (! # & etc.).
    • can not contain special letters such as æ, ø and å.

    We also recommend the following to ensure proper security:

    • Create an unique password.
    • Create a password that is hard to guess
    • Use a secure password manager to generate and keep your passwords.

    Students and employees

    Students and employees at NHH can use the network named, Eduroam. You log on with your student email and the corresponding password. If you face problems please see our user manual.

    Guests

    For guests, the network NHH/AFF Guest is used. After connecting to the network, you have to create a temporary user. The access lasts for five days and can be renewed by creating a new user.

    You can access your student email through https://webmail.nhh.no. Your email address is written in the format firstname.surname@student.nhh.no. It is possible to look up your email address here:

    Check you email

    You can connect the student email to your computer and phone. It is also possible to forward emails to your private email account. Please read more in our user manual for email.

  • Key chip

    Key chip

    New studentS

    You need a key chip to access the reading halls and to use the printer easily. Before you can get the key chip you must register a picture of yourself. The picture will be visible at you digital studentcard and your Office-365 user.

    HOW TO REGISTER YOUR picture:

    1. Download the mobile app, Power Apps.
    2. Log in with your student email and password.
    3. Press PhotoBox. If PhotoBox is not visible please thouch the text in the upper left corner and choose All Apps when the drop-down menu comes up.
    4. Follow the instructions provided in the app.
    5. Your picture should be a portrait with your head, neck and shoulder being visble. Make sure to have a neutral background.
    6. Remember to press upload picture after you have chosen a picture.

    You must wait at least 30 minutes after taking the picture before you can get you key chip.

    PIN CODE

    To access the building after opening hours you must use the pin code sent to you at the beginning of the semester. It is possible to look up and change the pin code.

    Lost your key chip?

    If you lost your key chip you can get a new one at the service center and activate it at IT support.

  • Student ID

    Student ID

    Get access to your student ID

    NHH uses digital student ID. Download the mobile app Student ID and log on with Feide using your student number and password.

    For the Student ID app to be valid, you must first pay the semester fee, register your courses in StudentWeb and upload your photo. It can take up to 48 hours for the picture to show on the app.

    How to register a picture for your Student ID

    You do not need to register a picture for the Student ID if you have registered for the key chip.

    1. Download the mobile app called, Power Apps.
    2. Log in with your student email and password.
    3. Press PhotoBox. If PhotoBox is not visible please thouch the text in the upper left corner and choose All Apps when the drop-down menu comes up.
    4. Follow the instructions provided in the app.
    5. Your picture should be a portrait with your head, neck and shoulder being visble. Make sure to have a neutral background.
    6. Remember to press upload picture after you have chosen a picture.
    7. To change the picture, please take a new one.

    MY PICTURE DOES NOT SHOW UP IN THE STUDENT ID APP

    Please ensure that there have been 48 hours since you took the picture. Try to log off and on or take a new picture. If you still face problems, please contact helpdesk@nhh.no and provide your student number.

  • Printing

    Printing

    Feel free to use the printers at campus.

    You need to buy credits to print. Remaining credits is not refuneded when your stay at NHH ends. Please ensure that you do not buy more credits than you need.

    Canvas

    Log in

    Canvas is an online platform used for all your courses at NHH. You log on with your student email and password.

    I CAN NOT ACCESS THE LOG IN PAGE

    If you are not able to access the log in page please try to delete cookies and saved passwords from the browser.

    I CAN NOT FIND MY COURSES IN CANVAS.

    It can take up to 24 hours from you register your course at Studentweb until it is visible in Canvas. Furthermore, the professer responsible for the course must publish the course page before you get access. Please go to Courses and choose All courses to view all your courses and check if they are published.

  • Online lectures

    Online lectures

    Live streams and recorded lectures are linked to from the course page in Canvas. Lectures that are recorded in the auditoriums at campus can also be accessed through stream.nhh.no.
