Economists with platform for independent analyses of the Corona crisis

Leading Norwegian economists have recently launched a platform for independent analyses of the Corona crisis. Katrine V. Løken and Kjell G. Salvanes from FAIR are two of the initiators.

Ten leading economists in Norway are starting a platform for coordination, discussion, and dissemination of various independent analyses of the Corona crisis. The initiators believe this platform will be useful for journalists, authorities, ministries (Health, Finance, Central Bank, etc), as well as the newly established expert commission on COVID-19, who all look for relevant analyses.

"We hope that gathering knowledge on the economic policy and the economic consequences of COVID-19 in one place, will make it easier for the policy makers and politicians to find information and advice from the country's leading economists", says two of the initiators Katrine V. Løken and Kjell G. Salvanes, from FAIR.

The webpage will provide op-ed pieces, economic scientific analyses, including short pieces, discussion forums, a list of policy relevant research questions and webinars on key topics.

To maximize public impact in Norway, the web page's main language is Norwegian, but contributions in English are of course equally welcome.

The initiators are:
Katrine V. Løken (NHH), Kjell Gunnar Salvanes (NHH), Torfinn Harding (NHH), Annette Alstadsæter (NMBU), Edwin Leuven (UiO), Kjell Erik Lommerud (UiB), Gisle Natvik (BI), Oddbjørn Raaum (Frischsenteret), Kjetil Storesletten (UiO) & Fredrik Wulfsberg (Oslomet)
